A lightweight issue with Easter fun

Another two weeks, and the world as we know it continues to change. In Bermuda, we are finishing the first week of a full lockdown. It is Easter weekend (for those of us who celebrate it), and I thought I’d add some Easter flavour this week.

With many people working from home, or just trying to stay in touch with loved one, video conferencing technology is moving into the forefront of most of our lives. There are a number of options, even for free, but Jami provides an open source, encrypted and distributed option that some people may find appealing. I’ve not had the chance to try it myself, but if someone is interested, let me know.

What’s new in ECMAScript 2020

The list of new ECMAScript 2020 features is set in stone. Let’s have a look at what’s coming this year and a few practical examples. Each year, new features are added to the JavaScript language through the ECMAScript specification process. This year we see some additions that should be useful like BigInt support and the similar pair of optional chaining and nullish coalescing. Some of these new features have been available via TypeScript, Babel or similar for a while, but now they are official.
